The Mexican Coin Magic

(614a) Collector Directory

Last Revision: 03/13/06

Each month we are beginning to receive a few more registrations and questions about the Mexican Coin Magic Collector Directory:

Question #1: How can I use this form?

Answer #1: This form can be printed or copied from our website and either mailed to us or returned by email.

Question #2: Why isn't the form interactive, allowing me to key my information directly into the website?

Answer #2: Stupidity and the lack of expertise.  We have had many problems creating this website in the past, therefore we have had to learn how to build a website on our own.  Later, as we gain experience, this form may become interactive, but for now this is our method for handling registration.

Question #3: Why would someone want to post their collecting interests on the internet?

Answer #3: Today there is much concern about security, and in a world full of terror and unstable people I guess this is understandable!  I personally feel that somehow and someway Mexican coin collectors from all over the world need a method to communicate with each other.  We are trying to accomplish this with this website.  How can you begin to communicate with others, if you don't know who they are or what they are collecting?  If we become so afraid of fear, then what do we have left?  I'm personally willing to take a chance, but I have no idea if others feel the same way.

Question #4: Why don't you just have a "chat room" for Mexican coin collectors instead?

Answer #4: The question of a "chat room" has been a major problem for us since we talked to our first potential website designer in 2003.  Many people seem to believe chat rooms are a necessity for a successful website!  But as Mexican coin collectors and website designers, a chat room presents big problems.  We have already had people from several different countries visit our website.  These people are very diverse; they live in different time zones, their primary language is not English, and their levels of experience range from beginners to very advanced collectors, etc,.  These differences would present problems for even the most experienced webmaster, which I'm not.  Most of the internet horror stories I have encountered seem to have begun with chat rooms.  I'm sorry, but it may be a long time or even never before we have chat room.
